Augustin Hadelich - violin

Gold medallist of the 2006 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, Augustin Hadelich has established himself as a commanding and unique voice among the new generation of violinists. Articulate and stylistically convincing through the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary repertoires, his versatility is astonishing. In November 2007, Augustin Hadelich will present a solo recital at the Reade Theater at Lincoln Center, followed by collaboration with Midori at the Rose Theater in May. In January 2008, he will make his orchestral concerto debut at Carnegie Hall, performing Brahms Double Concerto under Miquel Harth-Bedoya, with cellist Alban Gerhardt and the Fort Worth Symphony. This will be followed by a Carnegie Hall solo recital debut in Stern Auditorium. Among Augustin Hadelich's engagements are appearances with the symphonies of Charlotte, Columbus, Indianapolis, Louisiana, Louisville, Santa Barbara and the Iris Chamber Orchestra (TN). Outside the U.S., engagements include the Dresdner Philharmonie Museumsorchester Frankfurt, Saarbruecken Radio Symphony Orchestra, Staatsorchester Stuttgart, Suedwestdeutsche Philharmonie, and the chamber orchestras of Bavaria, Berlin, Hamburg, Kiel, Lucerne, and Toulouse. Born in Italy in 1984, the son of German parents, Augustin Hadelich holds a diploma from the Instituto Mascagni in Livorno, Italy, and a graduate diploma from The Juilliard School. He has been a participant at the Marlboro and Ravinia festivals and in master classes with renowned violinists such as Uto Ughi, Christoph Poppen, Pinchas Zukerman, Yehudi Menuhin and Miriam Fried.
